But that's because many things have been moving around with Akasa. In the last few months, we've been experimenting with recording, jamming and playing live with electronics. Most notably, we've been using a program called Ableton Live which allows us to use loops (drums, synths, etc.) on the fly. So we are essentially creating something new every time we play. We should be debuting our new sound at a venue near you soon. We hope you can join us in our progression as a band and musicians.

-Gerry

New studio track, "It's Alright"!!

Well, it's been a long time coming, but we finally have some new studio tracks. Inspires you to stay true to who you are and your music. Chris Whitley didn't care what people in the music industry or pop culture thought about his music. He always pushed the limits of what a songwriter was. Never bowing in to any pressure to become a superstar. And that's why he and his music still mean so much to me. He was music. He lived it. Every day. And that rocks.

There was nothing between his spirit and the National Steel guitar he wore like a badge of honor. I can only hope to become as open, adventurous and daring a musician as Chris was. He was not only a big influence on me musically, but on Akasa as well. He was a true original.

Chris Whitley
1960-2005

God's speed Chris. We have!! Ok, well.. its not that bad. Actually it's not like that at all, but it sure sounds good. What are we talking about? The Roadhouse of course! We're back again at this really fun, bluesy type joint in NYC. And if you haven't seen Roadhouse the movie with Patrick Swayze, do yourself a favor and go rent it. Kick Ass!!

We'll be performing a handful of new tunes that should give you an insight to the direction we're heading in.
